Coastal's Small Business Center opens Georgetown location

Coastal Carolina University's Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is opening a new location inside the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce building at 531 Front St.

The new location, scheduled to open June 19, will provide a variety of services and management training courses tailored to the needs of small businesses. The on-site SBDC consultant will provide managerial and technical assistance to those starting or expanding a business. Available services include:

* Consulting - The SBDC offers individual consulting in such areas as pre-venture feasibility, marketing, record keeping, procurement, financial planning, loan packing, production, and general management for the small business person engaged in retail, wholesale, manufacturing or service business.

* Continuing Education - The SBDC conducts seminars for those in business and those contemplating entry as entrepreneurs. Many of those programs are co-sponsored with chambers of commerce, technical colleges, community development organizations, trade associations, or the Small Business Administration (SBA).

Fees:

Consultation is offered without charge, and clients are assured confidentiality. The SBDC consultant will be available on Tuesday and Thursday of each week from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call Shanika Stafford of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce to make an appointment, 843-546-8436, ext. 21.

Coastal Carolina University operates the center through the Division of Academic Outreach.
