Coastal Carolina University presents "The Mystical Arts of Tibet: Sacred Music, Sacred Dance," featuring the multiphonic singers of Drepung Loseling monastery in a premium performance at Coastal's Wheelwright Auditorium on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The monks have performed throughout the United States at venues including Carnegie Hall, the Herbst Theater and the Ravinia Festival. The Dalai Lama endorses the group as a means of promoting world peace and healing through sacred performing art. The group has shared the stage with Sheryl Crow, Paul Simon, Kitaro, Michael Stipe, Patti Smith, Natalie Merchant and the Beastie Boys, among others. They have had two of their CDs - "Sacred Tibetan Temple Music" and "Sacred Music, Sacred Dance" - achieve top 10 rankings on the U.S. new age charts.
