CCU presents Jazz After Hours

Jazz After Hours, Coastal Carolina University's jazz/big band, will present a fall concert on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. A pre-show begins at 7 p.m. when the doors open.

Coastal's student-musician jazz ensemble with a big band sound will perform a variety of classic jazz songs such as "Begin the Beguine" and "April in Paris." A new student vocalist, Adrienne Griffiths, will be featured.

The After Hours Combo, a smaller improvisational group, will perform modern jazz including such numbers as "Brass Machine" and "Poultry in Motion." The event will also feature holiday music.

Dan O'Reilly, a teaching associate at Coastal who performs in various bands and orchestras around the Grand Strand, directs CCU's jazz ensembles.

General admission is $8 and admission; alumni and senior citizens $6; children 18 and younger are free. Tickets may be picked up from Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or prior to the performance. For tickets or more information, call 349-2502.
