Deana J. Lewis

Deana J. Lewis has been named the new coordinator of the Volunteer Services Center at Coastal Carolina University.

In this position, Lewis will serve as the primary contact for students who wish to volunteer on campus, or on local or national projects. She will collaborate with organizations both on and off campus to maintain existing relationships, as well as develop new opportunities for students to participate in service learning. Additionally, Lewis will act as adviser to the S.T.A.R. (Students Taking Active Responsibility) organization on campus and serve as liaison to the University's Office of Judicial Affairs.

The position is funded by AmeriCorps Vista under the South Carolina Campus Compact.

Lewis is a 2008 graduate of Coastal Carolina University and previously served as a student employee in the Office of Judicial Affairs and sat on the Campus Judicial Board.

The Volunteer Center was formerly located in the Office of Multicultural Student Services and is now under the Office of Student Activities & Leadership.
