Author Adam Davies to read at Coastal Carolina University

Acclaimed novelist Adam Davies will read from his work Thursday, Feb. 5 at 4:30 p.m. in the Wall Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. The event is free and open to the public.

Davies is the author of "The Frog King" and "Goodbye Lemon," and he writes a blog called "Summer in the City" for The New York Times. His latest book, "Mine All Mine," a comic suspense novel about art theft, was published in 2008.

Davies attended Kenyon College and earned a MFA from Syracuse University. He lives in Savannah, Ga., and is a professor at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

The reading is part of the Words to Say It Visiting Writers Series supported by the University's Department of English. Other upcoming author events in the series include:

* Joe Oestreich, professor and published writer, March 5 at 4:30 p.m. Oestreich's nonfiction work has appeared in many magazines and journals including Esquire and Sports Illustrated. * Deborah Ager, author of "Midnight Voices," a collection of poems, April 16 at 4:30 p.m. Ager's work has appeared in Best New Poets 2006 and The Georgia Review.
