Business workshop for entrepreneurs offered

Coastal Carolina University's Small Business Development Center is hosting a seminar designed to help entrepreneurs and managers grow their businesses in trying economic times. "Listening to Your Business," a half-day workshop offered through FastTrac, is designed to provide business managers with critical evaluation tools and action steps needed to maximize growth and profitability in a difficult economic climate. The cost is $50 (reduced from $150) and advanced registration is required.

The workshop will take entrepreneurs and managers through a four-step evaluation and planning process that will enhance business performance: (1) Setting a three-year vision; (2) Taking a snapshot of your business; (3) Evaluating where you are in the planning process; (4) Translating your goals into action steps.

"Listening to Your Business" will be offered at the following times and locations:

• Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m.

• Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Horry Georgetown Technical College's Georgetown campus, 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m.

• Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m.

This workshop is offered through the combined efforts of the Coastal Carolina University Small Business Development Center, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce, Georgetown County Economic Development and Clemson Extension Service.
