Lifelong learning classes announced for Second Spring 2009

More than 125 lifelong learning courses are beginning during the next few weeks at the five outreach centers for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Coastal Carolina University.

Courses offered include: Spanish, yoga, genealogy, computer courses for laptops and desktops, art classes (drawing, watercolors, acrylics, oils, palette knife, pastels, fused glass, Gullah dollmaking), photography classes (field studies, Photoshop, your camera and your computer), writing classes (memoirs, poetry, short fiction), music (Vivaldi, guitar and bass), history (Georgetown, South for Northerners, Benjamin Franklin, golden age of radio, origins of humor) and Lowcountry excursions every Wednesday and Friday to explore the rich natural and cultural history of the area.

A two-page summary of the schedule for each location is available, along with the more detailed 40-page catalog, in Conway (Foundation Center on U.S. 501), Litchfield (Waccamaw Higher Education Center on Willbrook Boulevard) and Georgetown (Georgetown Higher Education Center on Fraser St.), at the J. Bryan Floyd Recreation Center in North Myrtle Beach and at Webster University on Oleander Drive in Myrtle Beach.
