2009-2010 Student Government Association positions announced

  SGA President Dan Jolles  
New Student Government Association (SGA) leadership positions have been announced for the 2009-2010 academic year at Coastal Carolina University. The University's students vote each spring semester to elect representatives to hold SGA positions.

Dan Jolles, a senior management major from Silver Spring, Md., is SGA president. Taylor Eubanks, a political science major from Spartanburg, will hold the position of executive vice president. Jeree Matherson, a senior elementary education major from Irmo, is vice president of finance. Mason Campney, a senior political science major from Clarendon, Vt., is vice president of public relations.

Jolles, president of Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, has served as the Inter-fraternity Council vice president of policy, vice president of recruitment and president of the Delta Chi fraternity for two terms. He was a member of the Campus Judicial Board, served as an SGA senator in 2006 and 2008 and an Orientation leader for two years, and participated in Relay for Life.

Eubanks is a member of Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity, the Coastal Carolina University Honors College and the University's South Carolina Student Legislature team. Eubanks is also a tutor and mentor for the University's athletic department and a Relay for Life team captain.

Matherson, a two-year member of SGA, has served on the executive board as the secretary of finance for one year. She is involved in the Leadership Challenge Program, student mentoring and is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She was also involved with Schools for Schools, a nonprofit organization that raised more than $11,000 for a school in Uganda.

Campney, serving his second term as vice president of public relations for SGA, has been involved with the University's Custom Car Club, Relay For Life and Schools for Schools. Campney is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha national political science honor society and is news director and disc jockey for WCCU, Coastal Carolina University's student radio station.
