Coastal Carolina University names career center director

Tom Woodle has been named the director of the Career Services Center at Coastal Carolina University.

Duties of the position include the day-to-day management of the center, coordination of an advisory board, planning and implementation of career counseling and assessment, and representing the University at state, regional and national career service events. Woodle also oversees the University's Internship and Job Placement program.

Woodle, of Myrtle Beach, has been on the CCU faculty since 2003 first as coordinator of career counseling and later as associate director of career services. Prior to coming to Coastal, he was director of Career Services at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, N.C., and prior to that, dean of Continuing Education and psychology professor at Northeastern Technical College in Cheraw for 20 years.

Woodle earned a bachelor's degree in religion, a master’s degree in community education and counseling, a Master of Arts degree in Religion and a Ph.D. in counseling. He is certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors and is a native South Carolinian, coming originally from Clio.

He is active in the community as an ordained Episcopal priest at the Well Episcopal Church in Market Common and teaches as an adjunct in the University's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies. He and his wife Jackie have seven grown children.
