Kevin Hanrahan, tenor, will perform at Coastal Carolina University at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 7 in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. General admission is $3, and children 10 and under are admitted free, but must be accompanied by an adult.

Hanrahan, accompanied by Renée Jackson on piano, will perform a recital featuring the works of Schumann, Barber, Honnegar and Mozart. He has performed nationally and internationally in opera, oratorio and recital performances. Some favorite roles have been Tamino in “Die Zauberflöte,” Ferrando in “Così fan tutte” and Harold Hill in “The Music Man.” He has performed the Mozart Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass and Mendelssohn’s “Elijah.”

Hanrahan is an assistant professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He previously taught at several schools in Arizona including Grand Canyon University, Scottsdale Community College and Arizona State University.

Hanrahan received the Edgerton Award at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007 and the Katherine K. Herberger Award at Arizona State University from 2002 through 2005. He is also the recipient of several scholarships at Arizona State University including the Regents Scholarship from 2000 through 2005, the Lloyd and Leslie Bell Scholarship in 2000 and the Friends of Music Scholarship in 2001. At Carnegie Mellon University, Hanrahan was the recipient of the Sylvie Dehrdyne Scholarship and the Music Merit Award.
