NASCAR and M&M’s Racing coming to campus

October 14, 2010

Coastal Carolina University NASCAR Kinetics Team invites the public to a free viewing party of the upcoming NASCAR race at Martinsville on Sunday, Oct. 24 from noon to 4p.m. in the Adkins Field House at CCU’s Brooks Stadium (rooms 314, 315).

During the viewing party, sponsored by M&M’s Racing, vendors will provide free food and coupons. Various entertainment activities are planned for children and adults, and information on NASCAR and its foundation will be provided. The NASCAR Kinetics Team will also give away NASCAR, M&M’s racing and Darlington Raceway items at the event.

The viewing party is part of a national competition, NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion. Coastal Carolina University is one of eight selected universities in the program this semester. All eight universities were chosen based on their marketing programs and the students' eagerness to gain real world practice and knowledge. This is the second year that Coastal Carolina University has been selected to participate in the NASCAR Kinetics: Marketing in Motion Program.

Five Coastal Carolina University students were selected for participation in this year’s fall semester program. Those students are: second year member Roosevelt A.D. Corbett of Columbia, team leader; Devon Howard, of Surfside Beach; Roosevelt Board, of Greenwood; Laura Porth of Freehold, N.J; and Chris Adrian, of Schaumburg, Ill.

The winning university will receive the grand prize – an all-expense paid trip to Homestead-Miami Speedway in Florida. Students will represent their university and community while interacting with prominent NASCAR and Official Partner business professionals.
