Coastal Winds Ensemble to perform concert

Coastal Carolina University's Coastal Winds will perform “Una Celebración Español” at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2 in Wheelwright Auditorium.

Coastal Winds, directed by James L. Tully, professor of music and director of bands, is comprised of students of all majors performing a varied repertoire. This auditioned ensemble features 25 of the best University players on brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. The Coastal Winds will be performing music of Latin heritage, including “Sonata Latino” featuring Amy Tully, assistant professor of music, as flute soloist. The group will also perform the world premiere of “Seascape” by South Carolina composer Meira Warshauer.

General admission is $3; CCU and Horry-Georgetown Technical College (HGTC) students are allowed one free ticket per valid ID; CCU and HGTC faculty and staff are allowed two free tickets per valid ID; and children (ages 10 and under) are free.
