"Just Around the Corner," a series of
one-day excursions to areas
of regional interest, is being offered by Coastal Carolina Univeristy's
Division of Extended Learning and Public Services. The programs, which
are open to people of all ages, will be held on Tuesdays from April 11
to May 2. The following is a list of places and dates:
- Historic Conway, April 11, fee: $35
Includes a guided tour of the historic area, a chicken bog lunch
and a riverboat tour.
- Mullins Tobacco Museum/tobacco farm, April 18, fee: $35
Visit a working tobacco farm and explore the Mullins Tobacco
Museum. Participants will also enjoy a farm-style meal.
- Southport, N.C., April 25, fee: $20
Amble through the archeological remains of a pre-Revolutionary
village on your way to Southport. Enjoy lunch on your own and tour the
maritime museum and explore the shops and streets of this quaint
seaport.
- Hampton Plantation, May 2, fee: $20
Tour the 18th-century mansion, eat a box lunch under the oaks or
on the porch and spend the afternoon at Sewee Environmental and
Educational Center in Charleston County.
