Edible Book Fair coming up for National Library Week

March 30, 2012

Kimbel Library is gearing up for National Library Week, April 8 through 14, with an Edible Book Fair, a Cakes and Crafts event and a Digital Game Night. All events are free and open to the public.

The popular Edible Book Fair event takes place on Friday, April 13, from noon to 1 p.m. Previous entrants have made edible creations inspired by a character, a scene or a reproduction of a book cover. Submissions will be displayed in Kimbel Library from noon to 1 p.m., while students vote for their favorite edible book. Anyone may enter, but only students are eligible for prizes. First place will receive a Kindle Touch, while second place will collect an iPod Shuffle.

On Monday, April 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., the library will host Cakes and Crafts. Participants will be able to create their own bookmarks and other library-related crafts while enjoying free cake. This event is open to the public.

On Wednesday, April 11 from 9 p.m. to midnight, individuals are invited to bring in their video game consoles and some of their favorite games for Digital Game Night. Projectors, televisions and computers will be available for everyone to enjoy, and free pizza will be served. This event is open to the public.

Kimbel Library is located on 106 James P. Blanton Circle on the CCU campus.
