Lifelong Learning Society to hold photography exhibit

November 20, 2001

Lifelong Learning Society members enrolled in "Photography Outside the Darkroom" will showcase their work during a photography exhibit on Thursday, Nov. 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. in Coastal Carolina University's H. Dale Williams Center for Extended Learning. The event is free and open to the public.

Students in the class were taught to approach photography from an artistic point of view. They have been encouraged to express themselves through the technical medium of photography.

The course was taught by Arthur Seigel, a professional illustrator and photographer. His photographs have been published worldwide for publications including Travel and Leisure Magazine, National Geographic, Geo and Philadelphia magazines and many other medical publications and books. Seigel was director of Biomedical Communications at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center from 1978 to 1999. He was also the Chief of Photography and Illustration Neurological Research at the University of Pennsylvania.
