This is the first time ever that Coastal Carolina University has featured two student big bands, the CCU Jazz Ensemble and the CCU New Jazz Ensemble, will perform classic and contemporary big band music on Thursday, April 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. General admission tickets are $5.

The CCU Jazz Ensemble is directed by Matthew White and the CCU New Jazz Ensemble is under the direction of Chris Connolly. Together the bands will perform songs by musicians such as Stan Kenton, Gordon Goodwin, Bobby Shew, Omar Thomas and Maynard Ferguson.

CCU Jazz Ensemble will also feature CCU faculty special guests Dan O'Reilly, a lecturer in the Department of Music; Chris Connolly, teaching associate in the Department of Music; and Matt White, assistant professor in the Department of Music in addition to numerous student soloists. Ticket prices for CCU /HGTC students, faculty and staff are $3; children are free with an adult.

Wheelwright Auditorium is located at 108 Spadoni Park Circle on the CCU campus, in Conway.
