CCU public forum to discuss ‘Is college worth the money?’

September 24, 2014

"Is college worth the money?" is the topic of the Java Jabber panel discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 1, at 3:30 p.m. at the Kline Hospitality Suite at Coastal Carolina University's Brooks Stadium. The discussion will provide an opportunity for faculty members, staff and students to reflect on the question whether going to college is still as valuable as it was in the past. The dialogue is free and open to the public.

Sponsored by the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values, the session will examine the value of attending college considering the expense and the declining job market.

Questions that will be covered include: Is college really worth it? Should one avoid majors in the humanities and instead go for majors in business or the sciences? These questions and more will be discussed by students, faculty and others. Attendees will receive $1 off any purchase at Starbucks in Kimbel Library at CCU.

The Kline Hospitality Suite is located on the third floor of Brooks Stadium.
