January 7, 2015

The Faculty Triennial Exhibition will feature the works of 21 members of Coastal Carolina University's Department of Visual Arts opening on Thursday, Jan. 15, with a reception with the artists from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is invited to the free event in the Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

The exhibition, which runs through Feb. 15, presents new work by CCU's award-winning faculty in the areas of studio arts and graphic design. The exhibit highlights the diversity of approaches and techniques offered to students enrolled at Coastal Carolina University.

"Many of our professors regularly exhibit in national and international shows," says gallery director Jim Arendt. "Exhibitions that gather together their combined talent for our students and community are one of the benefits our region is able to reap through institutions like Coastal."

The exhibition will feature works by James Arendt, Chris Bilton, Steven Bleicher, Larry Bunch, Jeff Case, Jacob Cotton, Claudia Dominguez, Sandra Hardee, Elizabeth Keller, Maura Kenny, Alexandra Knox, Treelee MacAnn, Scott Mann, Kendall Martin, Armon Means, Paul Olsen, John Schiro, Easton Selby, Cat Taylor, Brad Williams and Logan Woodle. Collectively, they present works in ceramic, fibers, painting, metal, sculpture, graphic design, photography and other forms.

The Rebecca Randall Bryan Art Gallery is in Room 129 in the Edwards College at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
