Relay for Life changes venues

April 10, 2015

Coastal Carolina University's Relay for Life has been moved to Williams Brice Recreation Center in expectation of severe weather. The program begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 10, and continues through the night until 7 a.m. Saturday, April 11. Teams will walk around the corridor of the arena, which will serve as the "track."

Fifty-nine teams are registered to walk in CCU's Relay for Life, including 1,017 participants. To date, $65,925 has been raised.

Entertainment and contests will be going on throughout the night. Teams will be providing food and refreshments of all kinds, with suggested donation amounts to help raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The overnight event, which is hosted by the Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) club in the Office of Student Life, is designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in the community. The event celebrates survivorship and raises money to help the American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives and help those affected by cancer.
