Coastal Carolina University associate professor Frederick Wood will lead a Tea and Ethics forum about the challenges involved in promoting academic integrity on college campuses on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 5 p.m. in James J. Johnson Auditorium. The forum is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the anteroom.

Wood, the University's academic integrity officer, believes students come to college without a clear understanding of what constitutes plagiarism and cheating. He will discuss ways in which students and faculty can promote academic integrity more effectively.

Wood is also acting chair of CCU's Department of Politics and Geography. He joined CCU faculty in August 2008, teaching public law, American politics and political methodology.

Tea and Ethics is a forum sponsored by the Jackson Family Center for Ethics and Values that promotes individuals to make ethical and value based decisions.
