Interfaith community prayer service planned for CCU’s Lackey Chapel

November 30, 2015

An Interfaith Prayer Service for Love and Understanding is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 6, at 4 p.m. in the Lackey Chapel at Coastal Carolina University. The service, sponsored by CCU's Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies and many area faith groups, is being held in response to the "increasingly vitriolic rhetoric of fear and intolerance in our country," according to event organizers.

The purpose of the gathering is to provide an opportunity for people of all faiths, including CCU students, faculty and staff, to pray and reflect on the importance of ensuring that love, understanding and a spirit of fellowship infuse all discussions of important issues.

Prayers and scriptures will be offered by representatives from various faith communities. No admission will be charged and no donations will be accepted.
