Gospel Sing Out concert at CCU to benefit scholarship fund

January 13, 2016

The annual Gospel Sing Out concert is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 31, at 4:30 p.m. in the Wheelwright Auditorium at Coastal Carolina University. This community favorite event features the harmony of CCU's Inspirational Ambassadors and other choirs from the state. The event is free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted for a scholarship fund.

In addition to the Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors, featured performers will include the Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors Praise and Worship Team; Delmar Williams as Praise Dance; the Mason Temple Youth Choir from Conway; Harvey Green and The InterFaith Workshop Mass Choir of Georgetown County.

Proceeds from this year's Gospel Sing Out will benefit the Pat Singleton-Young Student Leadership Annual Scholarship, an award that ranges from $250 to $500, which is given to CCU students participating in on-campus multicultural programs and activities.

Pat Singleton-Young, who began working at CCU in 1979, is the director of multicultural student services. She graduated from the University in 1975 and earned a master's degree in 1978. She held the first membership chair of the CCU Alumni Association when it was founded in 1976.
