Pianist Donna Lee to perform at CCU

Noted pianist Donna Lee will perform at Coastal Carolina University on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Recital Hall. General admission tickets are $17, and discounts are available.

Lee made her debut in 1990 with the National Symphony Orchestra. She has since appeared as a soloist and collaborative artist at Kennedy Center's Concert Hall and Terrance Theater in Washington D.C., and Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York City. She has also performed in Asia, Europe and throughout the United States with recent performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, China, and Puerto Rico. Critics have described Lee's performances as "elegant and refined," "engaging and brilliant."

Lee earned a master's degree from The Juilliard School and her doctorate from the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. She earned a bachelor of music degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studied with prominent artist-teachers Julian Martin, Rudolf Firkusny and Thomas Schumacher.

Senior citizens, OLLI members, alumni, teens, and CCU/HGTC faculty and staff may purchase tickets for $12 and children and CCU/HGTC students for $5. To purchase tickets, contact the Wheelwright Auditorium at 843-349-ARTS (2787) or visit between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The auditorium is located at 108 Spadoni Park, Conway. The Recital Hall is in Room 152 of the Edwards Building, located at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus.
