Two prominent finance executives to speak in CCU’s Distinguished Speaker Series

February 19, 2016

Robert Bagby, retired chief executive officer of A.G. Edwards Inc., and Sandra Brittian, global head of Citi Holdings Program Management Office, will be the guest speakers for the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration's Distinguished Speaker Series. Bagby will speak on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 11 a.m., and Brittian will speak Monday, Feb. 29, at 10 a.m. in the Johnson Auditorium, located in the Wall College of Business Building. Both events are free and open to the public

Bagby joined A.G. Edwards Inc. in 1975 and was the first non-family member to serve as CEO and chairman of the board. Prior to becoming CEO, he served the firm in many capacities, such as vice chairman of both A.G. Edwards and A.G. Edwards & Sons, as branch administrator for the Southwest region and as a financial adviser. Bagby also served as the chair of Wachovia Securities when it acquired A.G. Edwards in 2007, serving in this capacity until his retirement in 2009. Prior to his employment at A.G. Edwards, Bagby was with the Ford Motor Company. He earned his bachelor's degree at Pittsburgh State University in Pittsburgh, Kansas.

Brittian joined Citigroup in 1999 as an audit and project risk program director. In 2001, she became chief of staff in global distributed technology, and her responsibilities included managing a $1.1 billion budget. She then became the chief of staff to the global head of technology and, in 2004, she helped build Citi's global operations and technology mergers and acquisitions team. Prior to joining Citigroup, Brittian was a national bank examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.

The Distinguished Speaker Series was created in 2014 to connect the CCU academic community with highly regarded and successful business leaders, and to strengthen the relationship between the college and the business community.
