Clinton biographer is CCU’s next 'Words to Say It’ speaker
Huber is the author of "The Evolution of Hillary Rodham Clinton," and a writing textbook "The Backwards Research Guide for Writers: Using Your Life for Reflection, Connection and Inspiration."
She also wrote two memoirs published by the University of Nebraska Press: "Opa Nobody" (2008) about labor activism in her German family and "Cover Me: A Health Insurance Memoir" (2010). She is currently working on an essay collection called "Pain Woman Takes Your Keys: Essays on Pain and Imagination," which will be published in 2017.
Huber's work has been published in literary journals and magazines including The New York Times, Creative Nonfiction, Brevity, Fourth Genre, The Chronicle of Higher Education and the Washington Post Magazine. She teaches at Fairfield University in Connecticut and directs Fairfield's low-residency MFA Program. She received her undergraduate degree from Carleton College in sociology/anthropology in 1993, a master's degree in public interest journalism and an MFA, both from Ohio State University. She is also a popular blogger and writes about health care, government and economics, being a parent, being politically active and "general nerdery."
CCU's visiting writers series, "The Words to Say It," brings several critically acclaimed authors to campus each year. These authors are selected both for their literary skill and their commitment to the socially transformative imagination.
