Psychology students present research papers

Seven Coastal Carolina University senior psychology majors presented research projects at the Carolinas Psychology Conference in Raleigh, N.C., in April. Students were required to submit abstracts of research papers for consideration prior to the conference, which was cosponsored by North Carolina State University and Meredith College.

The participating students presented the following project topics:

- Cindy Constine of Myrtle Beach, "A Comparison of Perceived Negative Interactions in Tattooed and Non-Tattooed Subjects"; - Meegan Davis of Orlando, Fla., "Alcohol Abuse and Feeling of Hopelessness in College Students"; - Len Egan of Warrenville, Ill., "Job Satisfaction in University Faculty"; - Melanie Fox of Myrtle Beach, "Computer Trivia Game Performance as a Function of Incentive Conditions"; - Melissa Seeley of Surfside Beach, "The Relationship Between Campus Crime and Alcohol Establishments"; - Theresa Seymour of Scranton, Pa., "The Relationship Between Self-Efficacy and Physical Dating Violence"; and - Hilary Summers of Dillonvale, Ohio, "Effects of Music on Heart Rate."
