Tom Conlon

Guitarist Tom Conlon will perform "Songs and Stories from a Road Less Traveled" on Thursday, Feb. 23, at 7:30 p.m. in the Edwards Recital Hall in the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts building. Tickets are $17, with discounts available.

Conlon is a New York-based guitarist who travels nationally and internationally performing original songs and spoken word pieces. His work is noted for its poetic lyricism, elegant guitar melodies and personal delivery.

"When Conlon plays guitar, he's giving you a lot of information - rhythmic and melodic information," said David Bankston, CCU professor of music. "He writes great melodies; he's a true troubadour."

Conlon has released multiple recordings over the past two decades including his 1996 debut "Soil out of Sand," "Lonely for the Sun" in 2010, "Tom Conlon: Live" in 2011, "Echo Cardio" in 2014, and "Reckoning Dawn" in 2016.

Tickets for CCU/HGTC faculty and staff are $5; children and CCU/HGTC students with proper ID are $3. The recital hall is located in Room 152 of the Edwards building at 133 Chanticleer Drive W. on the Conway campus.
