CCU offers executive development training opportunities

February 28, 2017

The E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University has released the 2017 training calendar for its Executive Development program. The program, designed to promote personal and professional development and to empower participants with effective management strategies, offers advanced training for leaders responsible for managing organizational goals. Upcoming cutting-edge training sessions are Innovation Engineering®, the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) and the Skills to Lead Program. All sessions will take place at the main CCU campus.

The Innovation Engineering® program, offered July 24-26, transforms innovation from a random gamble to a reliable system for profitable growth by creating a culture of never-ending innovation that delivers increased innovation speed (up to six times) and decreased risk (up to 80 percent). Innovation Engineering® was developed by the Eureka! Ranch research and development team. The Eureka! Ranch is an innovation systems company that teaches courses, leads projects, and develops tools that help ignite innovation within people and organizations.

The cost is $3,000, which includes all materials, online readings, lunch and snacks. Participants who complete the full program receive a blue belt in innovation engineering from Eureka! Ranch. For more information, visit coastal.edu/execdevelopment/innovation.

The CAPM® is a three-day program, from May 10-12, that introduces participants to all content areas covered in the CAPM® exam. This training fulfills the 23-hour requirement for project management education, which must be completed to sit for the exam; secondary degree and 1,500 hours of project experience are also required. This program is geared toward entry-level project practitioners, active project managers, and practitioners in health care, product development or anyone who is interested in learning the fundamentals and terminology of project management for the purpose of improving job performance.

The training is from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and includes a one-hour lunch break. The cost for each individual is $1,250. The price for current CCU students is $750. The cost includes a textbook, binder with course materials, online readings, lunch, snacks and a certificate of participation. For more information, visit coastal.edu/execdevelopment/prepcourse.

The Skills to Lead program provides participants with the latest effective techniques to succeed as leaders. Participants will practice the application of these techniques through case study role play and will discuss how to transfer learned skills to the workplace. Each session is $200 and includes a certificate of participation. Complete all five sessions to earn a TealBelt in leadership. The dates for this session are on March 10, April 7, May 19, June 9 and July 14 from noon to 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit coastal.edu/execdevelopment/lead.
