In preparation for the arrival of students, Coastal Carolina University resident advisers recently completed some rather intensive training. As a break during that training, CCU President David A. DeCenzo and his wife, Terri DeCenzo, treated the resident advisers to a picnic, complete with food, fun and gifts.

With the picnic as the backdrop, students and administrators spoke about how important the job of resident adviser is on this campus.

"I like the idea of helping people acclimate to the college lifestyle," said Kayla Hunter, a senior psychology major. "You can always be that person to give them that extra push to success."
