CCU's Grant Center announces grand opening of the South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame, sponsorship of South Carolina Real Estate Awards

September 25, 2023

Coastal Carolina University’s Grant Center for Real Estate and Economics is pleased to announce the opening of the new South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame space, sponsored by Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation and Mashburn Construction. The two organizations will also sponsor the South Carolina Real Estate Awards.

The South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame, founded in 2019, seeks to recognize and honor the legacy of top commercial real estate professionals with outstanding contributions to the South Carolina real estate community. The hall of fame will be housed in CCU’s E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration.

The South Carolina Real Estate Awards honor the successful efforts of businesses, community-based development organizations, and others who have worked diligently to transform the Grand Strand communities into excellent places to live, work, do business, and raise families. Awardees are selected by an independent committee of community stakeholders. Winners are recognized at the annual Economic Growth and Real Estate Summit. The first awards recognition was in 2018.

Unique to this new endeavor is the sponsorship of the awards and hall of fame by Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation and Mashburn Construction.

“The South Carolina Real Estate Awards and South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame have been a great opportunity to highlight unique areas of development as well as honor important figures of the local region,” said Robert Salvino, Ph.D., director of the Grant Center.

A ribbon cutting for the South Carolina Real Estate Awards and South Carolina Real Estate Hall of Fame will be on Oct. 19, 2023, at 10 a.m. in the Wall Building, room 107. Networking and refreshments will follow remarks from CCU faculty.

To RSVP, contact Cobi Williams by Oct. 12 at 843-349-2052 or cswilli5@coastal.edu.
