Coastal Carolina University is pleased to announce Coastal Commitment, a new initiative that guarantees admission and free tuition to South Carolina students who graduate in the top 10% of their high school class and whose families have an annual income less than $80,000. In addition, these students will receive an invitation to join the HTC Honors College without having to submit a separate application.

CCU has had a Top 10% Guarantee for South Carolina residents since 2014. This additional guarantee of free tuition demonstrates the University’s commitment to providing access and an affordable education to South Carolina’s high school graduates who meet the criteria.

This initiative combines existing federal and state aid as well as donor and other institutional scholarships. Some of the aid includes need-based aid, such as the federal Pell grant, for students who demonstrate need-based aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Other aid includes scholarships that have academic requirements with specific GPA requirements.

More than 350 South Carolina residents who are top 10% high school graduates are enrolled at CCU. The University estimates funding $1 million to support this initiative. This demonstrates CCU’s commitment to making higher education affordable and attainable.
