University recreation and the recreation and sport management department at CCU to host second annual Coastal Carolina Fitness Challenge
The Coastal Carolina Fitness Challenge is designed to promote health and fitness through competitive challenges. Two-person teams will compete, with one male and one female on each team. All teams will race against the clock and complete an obstacle course that tests their anaerobic and aerobic capacity as well as overall strength and muscle endurance. The two-person teams must work together to complete each segment of the course and cannot proceed to the next task until both team members have completed their current obstacle.
The event is open to CCU students, faculty, staff, and the public. The registration fee for the public is $15 per team, while CCU students, faculty, and staff can register for $10 per team.
The Coastal Carolina Fitness Challenge is an experiential learning event organized by students in RSM 490: Program and Event Planning class, taught by Donald Rockey, Ph.D., in the Conway Medical Center College of Health and Human Performance. The event offers students hands-on experience in successful event planning and organization tactics, marketing, and community program planning.
