May 19, 2000

Coastal Carolina University's Lifelong Learning Society has elected three new members to its advisory board. Elouise Bell of Myrtle Beach, Dan Schaeffer of Conway and Mildred Shuford of Surfside Beach will each serve three-year terms.

The advisory board was established in 1998 to help develop curricula for the Lifelong Learning Society, a learning-in-retirement program administered by Coastal's Division of Extended Learning and Public Services.

Other members of the advisory board are Gloria Bonali, Rocky Cartisano, Donald Cobler and Patricia Hosford all of Conway; and Beth Ault and Johann McCrackin of Myrtle Beach.

Coastal's Lifelong Learning Society has more than 900 members and offers more than 60 courses each semester on subjects ranging from computers and new technology to art, literature, local history, finance and physical fitness.

Fall semester courses are scheduled to begin Sept. 11. For more information, call 349-2665 or visit the Web site at www.coastal.edu/ learn.
