African-American Heritage Showcase presented by Coastal Carolina University students

February 14, 2003

As part of Coastal Carolina University's 2003 African-American Celebration, students will present "African-American Heritage Showcase," an evening of music, dance and skits, on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts Building. The event is free and open to the public.

The event is being organized primarily by the members of three Coastal student organizations, the African-American Association, the student NAACP chapter, and Leadership Challenge. The students have developed a program which highlights achievements in African-American history and culture. Some of the skits presented will be original works performed by participating students. The music, both vocal and instrumental, will stress the jazz and gospel genres. The dance segments will offer styles from the past and the present.
