Zen cowboy singer Pyle returns to Coastal Carolina University

March 11, 2003

Singer songwriter Chuck Pyle, known as the Zen-cowboy, will perform a concert in Coastal Carolina University's Wheelwright Auditorium on Monday, March 31 at 7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

Pyle, who performed at Coastal once before in 1997, has carved a unique niche in today's country music scene. Pyle's comic style combines the rural western humor of Will Rogers with Zen and New Age philosophy.

A virtuoso guitarist, Pyle has appeared on PBS's Austin City Limits and his songs have been recorded by Suzy Boguss, John Denver, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and other artists. His song "The Other Side of the Hill" is featured on Chris LeDoux's Greatest Hits CD. Pyle recently recorded his seventh album, the critically-acclaimed Affected by the Moon.
