Coastal Carolina University's Concert Choir will circumnavigate the musical globe for its spring concert, set for Tuesday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
The concert will offer "an international potpourri of choral delights," according to director Anne Denbow-Gilbert, including music from South America, New Zealand, Spain, Jamaica, Malaysia, Africa and Scotland, as well the United States. A number of songs will be presented in the original language, with others in English translations.
The program also includes a piece from an Offenbach opera, a Hebrew folk song, a Southern Gospel number from the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?," a jazz medley by Gershwin and a song from the Broadway musical "Guys and Dolls."
