Student leaders selected for 2003-2004

Student government officers and publication editors have been announced for the 2003-2004 academic year at Coastal Carolina University.

Student Government Association officers will include Taurean Davis of Duncan, a junior history major, as president; Drew Bird of Columbia, a sophomore history major, vice president; Lisa Sharpe of North Myrtle Beach, a sophomore chemistry/biology major, treasurer; and Erin Prince of Whitehall, Ohio, a sophomore marine science major, secretary..

Anne-Marie D'Onofrio of Raleigh, N.C., a sophomore marine science major, will be editor of The Chanticleer, Coastal's student newspaper; Jessica McMurrer of Leesburg, Va., a sophomore marine science major, will be assistant editor; Justin Vining of Westerville, Ohio, a sophomore resort tourism management major, will be business manager; and Yvonne Shendo of Cleveland, Ohio, a junior art studio major, will be art director of the bimonthly paper..

The new Tempo staff includes Lindsey Barnhill of Aynor, a junior English/marketing major, as the editor of the student lifestyle magazine; Mike Jaruszewicz of Charleston, a junior English major, as the assistant editor; and Tom Underwood of Plymouth, N.H., a senior art major, as the art director..

Archarios, the student art and literary publication, will be headed by Jason Fishel of Myrtle Beach, a senior in English, and Byron Philbrook of Westbrook, Maine, a junior in art, will be the art director.

Students are selected for the positions through a process of review of their work and interviews with a selection committee.
