Coastal Concert Choir to perform spring program

March 26, 2004

The Coastal Carolina University Concert Choir will perform its spring concert on Tuesday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Wheelwright Auditorium. The performance is free and open to the public.

The first half of the program will include the Georgetown Presbyterian Church Choir, which will join the Coastal choir for the “Fauré Requiem,” presented at the Georgetown church earlier in April. The remainder of the eclectic program will include: “O Sifuni Mungu” (in Swahili); a Brazilian piece, “Logo de Manha: At the Break of Day”; “Non nobis Domine” (from the movie “Henry V”); spirituals such as “Ride the Chariot” and “Keep your Lamps”; “God of My Praise,” “All Creation Sings His Praise” and “For the Beauty of the Earth”; and the “Promise of Living” (from the Aaron Copland opera The Tender Land).

Patti Edwards, assistant professor in Coastal’s Department of Performing Arts, directs the choir. For more information, call the Wheelwright Box Office at 349-2502.
