Coastals I Hate Hamlet features comedy and a ghost tale

Directed by Robin Edwards Russell, the two-hour comedy by Paul Rudnick celebrates the theater and all its zaniness.
Heres the plot: Andrew Rally has it all celebrity and acclaim from his starring role in a hit television series, a gorgeous girlfriend, a devoted agent, the perfect New York apartment and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. Then things begin to go sour. Andrews series is canceled, his girlfriend hangs on to her virginity with unyielding conviction, and he is paralyzed with fear at the prospect of playing Hamlet.
When Andrews agent visits him, she reminisces about her brief romance with John Barrymore years ago, in Andrews apartment. This prompts a sance to summon the ghost of the legendary actor. From the moment Barrymore appears, dressed in high Shakespearean garb, Andrews life is no longer his own. Barrymore, fortified by champagne and ego, presses Andrew to accept the part and fulfill his destiny as an actor.
The cast features Coastal students Michael Bratsafolis (as Andrew Rally, the lead character), Diane Fabiano, Danny Garrity, Sloan Huggins and Kristen Skarzynski. Coastal theater professor Greg London plays the ghost of John Barrymore.
