Area students complete teamwork training at Coastal

Thirty-seven Horry County middle and high school students have successfully completed Teamwork Training sponsored by Coastal Carolina University.

The half-day program, under direction of Coastal’s Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation, teaches and demonstrates skills and attitudes in teamwork and group processes. Students participate in physical and mental challenges requiring successful group plans and problem solving.

The following Horry County Middle School students completed teamwork training: Jeffrey Massengill, Jacob Talbot and Abby Davis, Carolina Forest Middle School; Catherine Goyak, Myrtle Beach Middle School; Zach Sutton and Andy Brown, Forestbrook Middle School; Chandler Thompson, Stephanie Ferrell, Alex Poe, Jessie Preslar, Harleigh Warner, Ben Harris and Bradley Bell, Whittemore Park Middle School.

Also Tyler Butler and Joseph Skiavo, St. James Middle School; Haley Thomas, Gene Moruca and Kourtney Wade, Conway Middle School; Jory Trevino, Brittany Hennigan and Ian Agnew, Loris Middle School.

The following Horry County high school students also completed the workshop: Ryan Massengill, Carolina Forest; Sydney Beaumont, Jade Guilbeau, Hayward Carter, Allie Crutchman, Maddie Rauch, Mike Mountain, Kraig Kowalski, Mary Jane Case, Sean Sluys, Tabitha LaRose, Peter Dong and Janelle Hervig, all of Myrtle Beach High School; Cory Snyder, Socastee High School; Shoichi Inoue, St. James High School; and Colette Randall, North Myrtle Beach High School.

Teamwork Training for middle school students is offered at no charge to middle schools as an outreach program through Coastal’s Department of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. For more information call Bill McKenzie at 349-2808.
