CCU business dean named to SBAA Board of Directors

The dean of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration at Coastal Carolina University has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Southern Business Administration Association (SBAA).

David A. DeCenzo, elected by membership of the organization, will serve a three-year term. Under his leadership, the Wall College of Business has established an economics major, and is developing an MBA program. The prestigious Wall Fellows program, which prepares top business students for high-level careers in major U.S. and international corporations and organizations, has grown significantly and recently placed interns with companies such as Citigroup Europe Middle East, Bayer GmBh in Germany, Rolls-Royce and the Carolina Panthers.

Before joining the Coastal faculty in 2002, DeCenzo served as director of partnership development in the College of Business and Economics at Towson University in Maryland. He is an experienced industry consultant, corporate trainer and public speaker and has served a wide variety of clients including Citicorp Global Technology, Inc., Moen, Inc., Motorola, Inc., and others.

DeCenzo earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree and Ph.D. from West Virginia University.

The SBAA is the regional association of collegiate business programs offered by colleges and universities in the southern United States. In addition to the South, SBAA members are located in the northeast, the mid-Atlantic, the Midwest, the West and Canada.

The mission of SBAA is to improve management education by providing networking opportunities for business educators, showcasing best practices, promoting innovation in teaching and scholarship and encouraging leadership in the management of educational programs.
