COMM 691 Applied Communication Capstone (6 credits) (Prereq: COMM 500, COMM 575, COMM/MALS 650) The culmination of the program, wherein students, under the direction of a faculty advisor, synthesize coursework and apply their knowledge and education to a significant project based on the students’ plan of study and interests. The nature of this capstone is designed collaboratively between each student and the student’s advisor (e.g., fundraising events, theory-driven research). Students must pass an oral defense in order to successfully complete this course. F, W, S,M, Su

Justification For Request

What research has led to this request?

We have found we have students who need more flexibility in scheduling their six credits of capstone work across semesters.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

None. It changes nothing about the content of the course.

What financial costs are associated with this request?

None.

If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?

We are simply allowing the capstone course to be offered in varying configurations over the course of more than one semester. There is still only one faculty member advising each student for 6 credits total of capstone work.
