The Ph.D. program has been reviewing its cognate offerings, including offerings within the Responsive Education (EDEQ) cognate. These courses were not originally designed to serve Ph.D. students, so they need to be updated to reflect the Ph.D. population. For this course, that means changing the course number to EDEQ 728 to match the other Ph.D. course numbers, and making the course's availability match its function as a cognate in the program.

What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?

These changes will allow the Ph.D. program more flexibility to offer this course as a cognate for Ph.D. students by making it match the level of the other courses and removing the prerequisite.
