The Clay Brittain Jr. Center for Resort Tourism was created in 2001. The mission of the Brittain Center is to conduct tourism research and support outreach programs that create linkages between CCU's Resort Tourism Management program, the tourism industry, and the resort destination area. The Center is located in the E. Craig Wall, Sr. College of Business Administration. Through its ongoing Tourism Economy Study, the Center tracks lodging industry supply and demand along South Carolina's Grand Strand. The Center also provides ad hoc tourism research services to private corporations, destination marketing organizations, as well as city, county, state governments.
