Islamic Studies

The Islamic studies minor is intended for undergraduate students majoring in a diverse range of disciplines across the humanities. In an increasingly globalized world, this minor provides you with the interdisciplinary perspective needed for understanding and interacting with Muslim communities at home and abroad. Nearly a quarter of the world’s population are adherents of the Islamic tradition.

Coursework

The 18-credit Islamic Studies minor gives you a solid foundation to Abrahamic religions and the Qur'an, then allows you to explore the dimensions of gender, politics, and the history of the origins and impact of Islam.
