Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies

The Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies offers studies in Spanish, French and German, as well as intermediate Italian and elementary Russian, to allow you to build linguistic and cultural proficiency.

The Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies prepares you to be a global citizen by offering coursework, co-curricular programs and study abroad opportunities that result in language proficiency as well as critical awareness of the corresponding culture. Becoming proficient in another language and culture allows you to perceive the world from a different linguistic and cultural framework.  The department fosters and promotes respect for cultural and intellectual diversity by nurturing your ability to communicate and interact with people of other cultures.

The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.

-Ludwig Wittgenstein. Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus (1922)
