R/V Coastal Explorer
The 50 foot aluminum research vessel is equipped with state of the art sea floor mapping/geophysical survey systems, 6 research workstations, a hydraulic A-frame (3-ton lift capacity) and dive platform. The vessel accommodates up to 22 passengers and has a cruising range of 500 miles.
BERM Boat
The 19 foot Carolina Skiff BERM Boat is powered by a 115 hp Mercury outboard motor. Cruising speed is 20 knots, and is equipped with submersible touch-screen monitor, VHS radio, Ashteck RTK GPS, TSS Heave Pitch and Roll, Hypack navigation software and SPOT satellite messenger.
Privateer
The Privateer is a 24 foot fiberglass boat powered by twin Mercury 135 hp outboard motors. It has a cruising speed of greater than 30 knots and carries a Garmin GPS system, VHF, a fathometer and Hypack Navigation. In addition, it has a 500 lb. boom and a mount for the Side Scan Sonar.
Leading Lady
The Leading Lady is an 11’ inflatable boat ideal for shallow water conditions. It is outfitted to conduct single beam bathymetric surveys and is a stable platform to conduct research.
