Name: Brandon Brown
Hometown: Woodbridge, Va.
Year in School: Junior
Major: Business Management
By now, most in the Coastal Carolina community know about Brandon Brown. They know he is an extremely talented driver who races in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. They know he finished in the top five at Daytona. They know he drives a sweet truck decked out in teal with a Coastal baseball national championship logo on the hood. Most even know he is a student here at Coastal Carolina University.
But perhaps some might not realize how proud and passionate he is about his school.
Watch any interview he has done with a news organization or glance at any of his social media profiles to get a feel for the love he has for Coastal Carolina. Understand that the love is genuine. Brandon decided to come to Conway long before the idea of him racing in a CCU truck was even entertained. The area and educational opportunities drew him here long before NASCAR aspirations.
He soon found out that his decision to attend would help him in many ways. He is earning his business management degree, he is deeply involved in his fraternity and he is representing Coastal Carolina University on the racing track. With Brandon thriving in these three areas, he continues to unselfishly deflect the attention from himself.
“They (CCU) wanted me to find success in what I do and you don’t find that everywhere,” Brandon recently remarked.
Brandon is right, it is a sticking point at Coastal Carolina University to help everyone find success. However, it is the students themselves, such as Brandon Brown, who work hard to position themselves for and ultimately achieve that success.
