Coastal Carolina University is committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and recognizes outstanding freshmen and transfer students through the merit scholarship program. Admitted students are automatically considered for merit awards. Students meeting the minimum requirements to qualify will be notified beginning Dec. 1 for fall enrollment.
Scholarships are available from the State of South Carolina to eligible South Carolina residents. Both new and continuing students will be automatically considered for SC LIFE and SC Hope scholarships. Students applying for the SC Palmetto Fellows Scholarship need to consult their high school guidance office.
Scholarships are available from the Horry County Higher Education Commission to students who have/will be graduating from an eligible Horry County high school. Various opportunities are available, and most require an application for consideration.
University Application-based Scholarships:
Each year both newly accepted and continuing students will be eligible to apply for Application-based Scholarships. Two application cycles are available throughout the year with the first beginning in October and will be available via WebAdvisor.
Each year both newly accepted and continuing students will be automatically reviewed for eligibility and those meeting eligibility requirements will be submitted to the Coastal Scholarship Committee for review. No application is required.
There are a variety of scholarships available to new and continuing students.
There are many organizations outside of CCU that offer a variety of scholarship opportunities.
