When you look at Rae’L Jackson’s resume at Coastal, you might come to the conclusion that she is grooming herself to enter just about any career field she could imagine. Politics? Teaching? Business? Entertainment? Fashion? With a versatile major in communication and involvement in diverse organizations such as SGA, the Coastal Student Success Center, Coastal Inspirational Ambassadors, Designer Dimension Fashion Club and the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity, Rae’L is well-rounded and experienced.

So, with so many options, what is her top career choice? None of the above.

We forgot to mention Rae’L’s true passion. The junior from Chester, S.C., wants to work in a media-related field, preferably as a photographer or broadcaster. Either in front of the camera or behind it, Coastal has taught Rae’L to take charge.

“CCU has taught me a lot about myself and being confident in the skin that I am in,” Rae’L remarks.

With a new level of confidence in herself, she is able to encourage confidence in others.  Rae’L Jackson is a peer leader, providing guidance and motivation to Bridge Program and CEaL Program students who are in the midst of a crucial transitional period. She willingly gives her time to help these individuals succeed.

“I enjoy sewing into others’ lives and being able to give a helping hand throughout any obstacles they might go through during their time at CCU,” Rae’L explains, addressing why she is involved with the program.

Carrying herself with enthusiasm at all times, Rae’L is a phenomenal example of what it means to “Feel the Teal” as she is always willing to help the greater good of the campus community.
